In Remembrance of a Beautiful Woman

It has been a very sad week for our family, the past months have held too much sorrow with family and friends with critical and terminal illnesses, then an accident tragically takes the life of my beautiful niece.

She was taken in a house fire in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 24th.  She leaves behind 2 small children.  The children were able to escape the fire with minor injuries.  My niece was overcome by the smoke.  In her young life of 32 years, she had endured sadness and hardship, yet she was a happy and positive force to all of us.  Through her mother's grief, she told me her daughter was most like me in our family.  Independent, strong, responsible and kind, I could have no better compliment.

A conversation, letter or email was never ended with out "I love you" included at least once.  She loved life, her children, her friends and her family.  She was eager to help and gave easily of herself.  She was a bright and shining life in this sometimes cruel world and will be greatly missed by us all.

Another productive weekend!

I completed 9 layouts again this weekend, 8 for me and one for the All About Me Crop next weekend!  I have had some serious mojo flowing, I know that is about to come to an end, never last longer than a couple of weeks.

Family~Great Grands was done with Kraft Cardstock and Teresa Collins 8 x 8 Transparency.  I stamped under the transparency with The Unity Stamps Distressed Hearts.  The Making Memories Paperie Paper goes nicely with the Kraft.

 

I had had this sketch in my book for  a while, thought it would work well with this close up shot of my grandson on his 8th Birthday. I used Sassafras papers.

 

One of my favorite pictures of my grand-kids.  They are always so supportive of each other.

Prima Papers are awesome with the cut edges, adds that extra detail to the layouts. And I still love Magic Mesh too!

 

Nothing special about this one, but I do love the picture.  The sunsets over the lake in the fall are the best season for color!  Love the new Felt Branch from Prima!

DST~ Stole and hour from me...

Daylight Savings Time is never fun in the spring, when you lose that precious hour of your weekend.  But, I did make the most of it and completed 9 Layouts this weekend!  Most of my inspiration came from Scappinnana, thanks Tammy!  I did 7 layouts for me and 2 for the All About Me class on March 21st.

I did this shadowbox of my dear friend, I wanted to have something in my scrap room of her.  I love the Bo Bunny Paper and the Prima Wildflowers with a bit of Fancy Pants Ribbon.

 

This was quick and easy, I couldn't find any PP, that I liked so I Glimmer Misted the Sand and Sea

All About Me Crop March 21st!

A little scrappy time!

I have been working on the layouts for our Book Of Me crop on the 21st of this month, that is where most of my scrappy energy has been spent.  But, those layouts are TOP SECRET until March 21st!  I did take a few hours last weekend to scrap my favorite subjects, the grandkids.  Nothing spectacular, but it is so much fun to look at those faces I love!

I used the last winter's release from Piggy Tales~Mulan Collection for this LO.  Love the red and Black and it was a great background for Audrey.

 

Used the new Unity "Just My Type" Alpha stamps on this layout, the stamps are a big 1/2" tall and fun to use!

 

One Christmas Layout, simple, but it doesn't distract from the picture, which is the best part :)

Love the Basic Grey Chipboard Letters - this is White Chocolate!
